A place to start
Why am I here?
I’ve been thinking for a while now about how to best share my thoughts, feelings, and opinions on all the things about medical librarianship (AKA medlibs). My personal Twitter (@tcshields) has often been the only place where I talk about these things. Twitter these days though? Not so great. I’ve been looking at alternatives - Mastodon, Hive, Post, Discord - and while some offer hope for the community of #medlibs, they don’t offer the wonderful overlap, synergy, and serendipity that happens at Twitter. It’s a real loss.
I need an outlet. I need a way to talk about the profession - the good and the bad - of medical librarianship outside of peer-reviewed journal articles. Hopefully this newsletter will provide a way forward with commentary from me and others. It’s time to start something new.
